The Perfect Peel!

As we get older dead skin cells that accumulate and block pores can cause our skin to gradually appear dull and lifeless. However, there are treatments which can help, the most effective being the chemical peel.

By removing the dead skin cells from the surface of the skin, the peel enables new healthy skin cells to grow back creating smoother looking skin and evening out skin tone. Chemical peels can also be used to treat blemishes, scars and age spots.

There are various types of chemical peel – superficial, medium and deep – and they achieve different results. So it is important to choose the right peel for your skin type. Here at the Clinic, our two most popular peels are the Jan Marini 40% glycolic acid peel and the Obagi Blue Radiance peel. But which is right for you?

Jan Marini 40% glycolic acid
This peel is great for all skin types but is particularly effective with normal/dry and mature skin. A course of these peels can soften fine lines and wrinkles, brighten a dull complexion and smooth the skins texture.

Obagi Blue Radiance 20% salicylic acid
This also works for most skin types but we especially recommend it for those with oily skin that is prone to breakouts or pigmentation. A course of the Obagi Blue Radiance peels can reduce breakouts, congestion and inflammation, as well as brighten pigmentated skin caused by sun damage.

However, the first and best course of action is to pop into the clinic to speak to one of our qualified and experienced skin care technicians.
